Shipping a vehicle
A vehicle can travel by road alongside a household move, but it must be deregistered for export in the UAE first and the export certificate issued. Outstanding finance and unpaid traffic fines both block deregistration and both take days rather than hours to clear. Kuwait applies its own age and standards rules, and right-hand drive vehicles are not accepted in most of the GCC.
Taking pets
Cats and dogs need an import permit from the Kuwait agriculture authority, a microchip, a current rabies vaccination and an official veterinary health certificate issued close to travel. Several breeds classified as dangerous are prohibited outright. Permits take weeks rather than days, and an animal arriving without one can be refused entry, so the permit is applied for before travel is booked.
