An office move is a project with a deadline that cannot slip, because Monday morning arrives whether the network is patched or not. The moving part is the easy half. The half that decides whether it goes well is the sequencing: what gets switched off, when, and in what order it comes back up.
How do we keep downtime to a weekend?
By doing everything reversible before Friday. Crates are delivered mid-week and staff pack their own desks into numbered crates on Thursday afternoon. The comms room is documented and photographed before a single cable is pulled. Furniture is dismantled Friday evening, moved overnight, and rebuilt Saturday against the floor plan. Sunday is deliberately left as contingency and testing time, not as working time, because something always needs a second visit — a missing patch lead, a desk leg, a door that a cabinet will not pass through.
What happens to the servers and network kit?
It is the part of the move with the least tolerance for improvisation. Racks are photographed front and back before anything is unplugged, every cable is labelled at both ends, and drives are moved in anti-static packaging rather than loose. Racks travel upright and strapped, never laid flat. We coordinate with your IT team or provider on the shutdown and power-up sequence, and we do not touch anything live without them. If your comms room has a UPS, its batteries are usually the heaviest single item on the floor and need their own handling plan.

Frequently asked questions
Can you move us without stopping work?
For larger offices we phase the move floor by floor or department by department, so part of the business is always live. It costs more than a single weekend move because the crew returns several times, but for operations that cannot go dark it is the right trade.
Do you supply crates or do we use boxes?
Reusable plastic crates on wheeled dollies. They stack securely, move faster than cartons, need no tape, and go back to us afterwards so there is no cardboard mountain in the new office on Monday.
Who handles the IT reconnection?
We move, place and reconnect hardware to the point of power and network. Configuration, server commissioning and anything touching your live systems stays with your IT team or provider, and we schedule around them rather than across them.
Can you store furniture we do not need yet?
Yes. Surplus desks and storage units go to our warehouse on an inventory, and you call them back as the new floor fills up. It is usually cheaper than disposing of good furniture and buying again in a year.
