Wooden box and export case fabrication in Dubai

We manufacture wooden boxes, export cases, skids and pallets to your drawings or to a measured sample, from ISPM 15 heat-treated timber with the stamp and certificate. Batch orders for freight forwarders and exporters are quoted per unit, built at our Deira workshop and delivered to your warehouse or direct to the packing site.

Wooden box fabrication

Cargo companies rarely need one box. They need forty of the same box, to the same internal dimension, on the day the consignment is being built — with treated timber and a certificate that will not hold the shipment at the destination port. That is a manufacturing job with a delivery date, not a packing job, and it is what this workshop does.

Do you supply boxes to other cargo companies?

Yes, and it is a large part of what the workshop does. Freight forwarders, relocation companies, exhibition contractors and exporters order by the batch against their own consignments. You send the drawing or the internal dimensions, we quote a unit price and a delivery date, and the boxes arrive stamped and certified. We do not take the freight or approach your client; the boxes are a supply item, and the consignment stays yours.

Solid wood or plywood — which case should you order?

It follows the mode and the handling. Solid timber with battens takes repeated handling and stacking, which is what a sea consignment gets across two ports. Plywood cases weigh less, and on air freight the charge is taken on whichever is greater of actual or volumetric weight, so a lighter case can pay for itself on one shipment. Plywood is also exempt from ISPM 15 as a processed material — though any solid battens or skids on the same case are not, which is the detail that catches people out.

What does the certificate actually cover?

The ISPM 15 mark certifies that the solid wood in the packaging was heat treated to the required core temperature and duration, at a registered facility. It travels two ways: stamped on the timber itself and written on the certificate issued with the shipping documents. Customs at arrival compare the two, so both must be present and must agree. It certifies the timber — not the contents, and not the packing.

What affects the price

Batch sizeSet-up is priced once, so the unit rate falls as the quantity rises.
Timber grade and thicknessLoad rating sets the board thickness and the bracing pattern.
Plywood vs solid woodPlywood cuts volumetric weight on air freight; solid wood takes more abuse at sea.
Assembled or flat-packedFlat-packed ships more per trip and costs less to deliver.
Lead timeA same-week batch is priced differently from a planned schedule.
How it works

Four steps

  1. Specification

Drawing, sample or the item itself measured, plus weight and lifting method.

  2. Unit price and lead time

Quoted per unit against the batch size, with a firm delivery date.

  3. Fabrication

Cut and assembled in the workshop from treated stock, first unit checked against the drawing.

  4. Stamp, certify, deliver

ISPM 15 mark applied, certificate issued, batch delivered to your address.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

What is the minimum order?

There is no fixed minimum — we build single cases for machinery as readily as a run of forty. What changes is the unit price, because the set-up and the drawing check are priced once whether the batch is one box or a hundred. Tell us the quantity with the enquiry and the quote reflects it.

How quickly can a batch be ready?

A straightforward batch to a supplied drawing is normally days rather than weeks, and we will give you a firm date with the quote rather than an estimate. The variables are timber availability in the grade you need and whether the first unit has to be approved before the rest are cut.

Can you build around a machine at our premises?

Yes. Where a machine cannot be moved until it is protected, the case is measured and built around it on site. It costs more than a workshop build because the team and the timber travel, but for a fixed or delicate installation it is usually the only safe order of work.

Do you deliver, or do we collect?

Either. Batches are delivered to your warehouse or straight to the packing floor, flat-packed where that suits the vehicle, or you can collect from the workshop in Deira. Delivery is quoted with the batch so there is no separate charge appearing later.
